Postoperative gastrointestinal recovery is often delayed due to postoperative ileus. Non-pharmacological interventions such as chewing gum and aromatherapy have been reported to accelerate the return of bowel function. This study aimed to analyze the effect of a combination of chewing gum and aromatherapy on gastrointestinal recovery in post-cesarean section patients. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest nonequivalent control group approach. The study was conducted in November 2024 at RSUD Kota Bandung, involving 40 respondents divided into an intervention group (n=20) and a control group (n=20). Inclusion criteria were post-cesarean section patients who were conscious, hemodynamically stable, and willing to participate. Exclusion criteria included patients with complications or gastrointestinal disorders. Consecutive sampling was applied. The intervention group received chewing gum and peppermint aromatherapy in the early postoperative phase, while the control group received standard care. The study employed a quasi-experimental design without randomization, with the primary outcome being gastrointestinal recovery measured by bowel sounds. The control group received early mobilization, including limb movement 3 hours after spinal anesthesia and repositioning every 3 hours. Data were collected using an observation sheet based on standard operating procedures for bowel sound frequency. The results showed a significant increase in bowel sound frequency in both groups, with a greater effect observed in the intervention group. Additionally, the time to first flatus was shorter in the intervention group, indicating faster clinical recovery of gastrointestinal function. In conclusion, the combination of chewing gum and aromatherapy is effective in accelerating gastrointestinal recovery in post-cesarean section patients and may be considered as a supportive intervention
2026-05-30T13:52:06+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/FIK/article/view/4701Digicom (Digital Comic) Berpengaruh dalam Peningkatan Pengetahuan Remaja tentang Penatalaksanaan Bencana Banjir2026-05-30T13:54:06+00:00Miranti Florencia Iswariumydirajuna@gmail.comArya Ramadhanarya8354@gmail.com
Due to the widespread impact of floods on various aspects of community life, especially among adolescents, disaster literacy has become an urgent priority. In an effort to improve adolescent preparedness for disasters, several digital-based disaster education methods have been developed at both national and international levels, showing positive results. One innovative method currently being explored is the Digicom (Digital Comic), which utilizes visual and narrative strengths to convey disaster-related information. Objective: To determine the effect of Digicom (Digital Comic) in increasing adolescents’ knowledge about disaster management. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a sample size of 33 students XII class. The research instruments included a knowledge questionnaire and a digital comic on flood prevention. Data analysis was performed using the paired sample t-test. Results: The mean knowledge scores before and after the intervention were 47.88 and 61.97, respectively. The paired sample t-test showed a p-value = 0.001 (p-value < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of Digicom on adolescents’ knowledge. Conclusion: In the modern Gen Z era, Digicom is an effective, relatively creative, simple, and engaging method for educating adolescents
2026-05-30T13:54:06+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/FIK/article/view/4719Personal Hygiene Berhubungan dengan Keputihan pada Remaja Putri di SMA Negeri 1 Pajangan Yogyakarta2026-05-30T13:56:10+00:00Septia Nanda Sarihnur01911@gmail.comDwi Susantisoesanti_2@yahoo.com
Vaginal discharge is one of the most common reproductive health issues among adolescent girls. Abnormal vaginal discharge can cause discomfort and even serious infection risks if not properly managed. One of the contributing factors is poor personal hygiene practices, such as not changing sanitary pads regularly, wearing underwear that does not absorb sweat, and failing to maintain proper hygiene in the genital area. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between personal hygiene behavior and vaginal discharge issues among adolescent girls at State Senior High School 1 Pajangan, Yogyakarta. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Pajangan Yogyakarta in June 2025. The sample consisted of 85 female students in grades X and XI, selected using stratified random sampling. The criteria for respondents were female students in grades X and XI who were willing to be respondents and signed an informed consent form. Data were collected using two types of questionnaires, namely a personal hygiene behavior questionnaire and a vaginal discharge questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Somers' d statistical test. The study results showed that most respondents had high personal hygiene behavior (55,3%) and experienced mild vaginal discharge (52,9%). The Somers’d test yielded a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05). There is a significant asseciation between personal hygiene behavior and vaginal discharge issues among adolescent girls.
2026-05-30T13:56:10+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/FIK/article/view/4547Dukungan Keluarga Berhubungan dengan Tingkat Kecemasan pada Pasien Pre Operasi Orif Fraktur Ekstremitas Bawah di RS Ortopedi Prof. Dr. R. Family support is believed to be critical in helping patients manage this anxiety. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between family support and anxiety levels in pre-operative ORIF (Open Reduction Internal Fixation) patients with lower extremity fractures. This research is a correlative analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique, with a total sample size of 35 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a validated questionnaire, namely the family support questionnaire and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) to measure anxiety levels that have gone through validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The majority of respondents (94.3%) received high family support, while 5.7% received moderate family support. A total of 45.7% of patients did not experience anxiety, 45.7% experienced mild anxiety, and 8.6% experienced severe anxiety. The results of the analysis using the Spearman Rank test showed a significant relationship between family support and anxiety levels in ORIF pre-operative patients. The results showed a significant relationship between family support and the anxiety levels of patients undergoing preoperative ORIF procedures, with a correlation coefficient of -0.434 and a significance value of 0.009 (P < 0.05).
2026-05-30T21:45:16+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/FIK/article/view/5081Studi Fenomenologi Peran Tim Pendamping Keluarga dalam Percepatan Penurunan Stunting di Daerah Pesisir Kabupaten Sumenep2026-05-30T21:49:41+00:00Yulia Warditayuliawardita@wiraraja.ac.idSri Yunita Suraida Salatyunitafik@wiraraja.ac.idDian Permatasaridianpfik@wiraraja.ac.idNurul Khalifahnurulkhalifah@wiraraja.ac.id
Stunting remains a public health problem in the coastal areas of Sumenep Regency. This study aimed to explore the role of the Family Assistance Team (Tim Pendamping Keluarga/TPK) in accelerating stunting reduction in Dungkek District. The study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. A total of 17 informants were purposively selected, consisting of midwives, PKK cadres, family planning cadres, prospective brides and grooms, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, mothers of toddlers, community leaders, and the head of family planning services. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed that TPK plays a role in nutrition and health education, assistance for families at risk of stunting, monitoring child growth and development, and facilitating access to health services. However, the implementation of these roles still faces challenges, including limited resources, low community participation, and parenting-related factors. This study indicates that TPK has a strategic role in supporting the acceleration of stunting reduction in coastal areas through strengthening family education and facilitating access to health services. These findings provide a basis for strengthening community-based TPK programs in coastal areas through enhancing cadre capacity, reinforcing cross-sectoral coordination, and optimizing community empowerment to ensure more effective and sustainable interventions.
2026-05-30T21:49:41+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournalwiraraja.com/index.php/FIK/article/view/4892Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Kejadian Asfiksia Neonatorum di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Sukadana Lampung Timur Tahun 20252026-05-30T21:53:30+00:00Ummi Isnayati Summiisnayati@gmail.comFeri Kameliawatikameliawatiferi@gmail.comRini PalupiPalupirini30@gmail.comAni Kristianingsihanikristianingsih539@gmail.com
Neonatal asphyxia is one of the leading causes of neonatal mortality worldwide, including in Indonesia. Based on WHO data in 2023, asphyxia accounted for approximately 23% of all global neonatal deaths. This study aimed to identify factors associated with the incidence of neonatal asphyxia at the Sukadana General Hospital, East Lampung, including maternal age, maternal body weight, parity, gestational age, history of delivery, and birth weight. This research employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The research population consisted of all infants born at Sukadana General Hospital during 2024, totaling 220 infants, all of whom were included as samples using a total sampling technique. Data were collected from medical records and analyzed using the Chi-Square (χ²) test to determine the correlation between independent and dependent variables. The results showed significant correlation between maternal body weight (p = 0.001), gestational age (p = 0.001), history of delivery (p = 0.001), and birth weight (p = 0.001) with the genesis of neonatal asphyxia. Infants with low birth weight, preterm gestational age, mothers with abnormal body weight, and a history of complicated delivery had a higher risk of experiencing asphyxia. In contrast, maternal age (p = 0.198) and parity (p = 0.171) did not show a significant correlation with the genesis of neonatal asphyxia. It is expected that healthcare workers can improve the quality of antenatal care (ANC), conduct early screening of risk factors, and strengthen neonatal resuscitation skills to reduce the incidence of neonatal asphyxia.
2026-05-30T21:53:30+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
